Burglary was reported on the 900 block of South First Street around 1 a.m. Wednesday. According to the report, an unknown offender opened the victim’s unlocked glass door and stole her purse from the kitchen counter.

Domestic dispute was reported on the 2100 block of West White Street around 1 a.m. Wednesday. According to the report, the police forced entry into an apartment due to being informed of a possible hostage situation.

Theft was reported at JC Penney, 2000 N. Neil St., around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. According to the report, an unknown offender stole several items from the business break room.

Urbana

Criminal defacement of property was reported on the 800 block of Hawthorne Drive around 5:30 p.m. Tuesday. According to the report, an unknown offender spray painted the victim’s residence.

An arrest was made on the charge of burglary on the 1000 block of West Main Street around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. According to the report, someone reported a man checking car doors in an apartment parking lot. Police attempted to stop him, but he fled and was later located and arrested. The victim later reported items were missing from his vehicle.

Theft was reported at Meijer, 2500 S. Philo Road, around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. According to the report, the victim loaned the offender her phone and the offender ran off with it. The phone was located a short distance away, and the offender fled before police could arrive.
