Champaign

Burglary was reported in the 600 block of South Garfield Avenue around noon on Wednesday. According to the report, an unknown offender forced entry into the victim’s residency and stole electronics and currency.

Theft was reported at Homewood Suites, 1417 S. Neil St., around 4 p.m. Wednesday. According to the report, the victim reported $400 stolen from his hotel room and believes a hotel employee took the money.

An arrest was made on the charges of retail theft at Macy’s, 2000 N. Neil St., around 7 p.m. Thursday. According to the report, the suspect stole an item from the store.

Theft was reported at the English Building, 608 S. Wright St., around 8 p.m. Wednesday. According to the report, a University student reported his bicycle stolen. The bicycle, with an estimated value of $1,000, was locked onto a bicycle rack.

Theft was reported at Hopkins Hall, 1208 S. First St., Friday. According to the report, a University student reported his bicycle had been stolen Wednesday or Thursday overnight. The bicycle was locked onto a bicycle rack and had an estimated worth of $50.

Urbana

Burglary was reported in the 100 block of North Poplar Street, around 11 a.m. Thursday. According to the report, an unknown offender gained access to the victim’s residence through an unlocked window and stole several items.

Theft was reported at Common Ground Food Co-opertive, 300 S. Broadway Ave., around 4 p.m. Thursday. According to the report, an unknown offender acted as if he was wiping off a sneeze directed toward the victim, taking the victim’s wallet in the process.
