CU takes part in National Voter Registration Day

By The Daily Illini Staff Report

Community members from all around Champaign-Urbana had the opportunity to register to vote across town on National Voter Registration Day Tuesday.

The Champaign County Clerk was registering people to vote all day, and staff from the office were also at Parkland College registering people from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Registration was also available at Champaign Public Library and Urbana Free Library on Tuesday.

“National Voter Registration Day is another opportunity for us to bring awareness to the importance of registering and voting,” Champaign County Clerk Aaron Ammons, said in a press release. “We are excited to be at Parkland this year registering people. We have some exciting initiatives and partnerships surrounding voter registration coming up so stay tuned. We are committed to continuing voter education and voter registration at community events as part of our mission.”
