Champaign police are investigating two separate shooting incidents from Friday night to Saturday morning. At this time it is unknown if the two incidents are related, according to a CPD press release.

The first incident was on Friday around 9 p.m. in the 2400 block of West Springfield Avenue. Police responded after reports came in of shots heard. Upon arrival of the scene in a parking lot of a local business, police learned that two victims had been shot. The victims were transported to the hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Shell casings were also recovered from the scene.

Later that night, around 2:11 a.m. Saturday, police responded more reports of shots in the 600 block of West Bradley Avenue. Upon arrival at the scene, police found two victims, who had both been shot, outside of a private residence. The victims were transported to the hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. The investigation currently indicates the two victims were sitting inside a vehicle when another vehicle approached, someone inside fired shots, and drove away.

Currently, police do not have any suspect information available for either incident and no arrests have been made. Police are asking any local businesses around the area with surveillance footage to contact the department to assist in the investigation.

Crime Stoppers, an anonymous tip line, is offering up to $1,000 for information that may lead to the arrest of those responsible.
