Champaign

Possession of controlled substance was reported in the 2100 block of West White Street around 5:30 p.m. last Tuesday. According to the report, the offender was observed purchasing a controlled substance.

Deceptive practices was reported in the 1500 block of Waterford Place around 2 p.m. last Monday. According to the report, the victim was scammed out of money.

University 

An arrest was made on the charge of domestic battery in the 300 block of East John Street around 5 a.m. Saturday. According to the report, the suspect reportedly struck the victim, with whom the suspect was previously dating.

Theft was reported at parking lot E-24, 101 E. Peabody Drive, sometime between noon and 4 p.m. Wednesday. According to the report, the victim reported that personal items, valued around $609, had been stolen from his vehicle.

Theft was reported at an apartment complex at 700 S. Gregory St. around 8 p.m. Thursday. According to the report, a police officer discovered that multiple packages in the apartment lobby had been opened and presumed stolen. The police officer was checking the building because multiple thefts had been reported there since Nov. 9. Police took some of the packages that were not empty to the department for safekeeping until the owners could be contacted.

Urbana 

Criminal damage to property was reported in the 200 block of West Green Street, around 11 a.m. Monday. According to the report, an unknown offender damaged three lawn ornaments on the victim’s property.

An arrest was made on the charge of possession of an in-state warrant in the 900 block of East Harding Drive, around 7 a.m. Monday. According to the report, police were led by an anonymous tip to an apartment where the suspect, who possessed a valid Champaign County warrant, was residing. The suspect was then arrested and transported to jail.

Credit card fraud was reported in the 1800 block of South Cottage Grove Avenue, around 8 p.m. Sunday. According to the report, the offender took the victim’s debit card and withdrew money from it at an ATM without the victim’s permission.
