Champaign Police still investigate stabbing after arrest

Champaign Police responded to a reported stabbing in the 100 block of Kenwood Road around 12:16 p.m. Tuesday. According to a CPD press release, upon arrival, officers found a 20-year-old male with non-life-threatening stab wounds. He was then transported to a hospital.

The CPD press release stated that the preliminary investigation showed the stabbing happened after an altercation between three acquaintances. Later, a 22-year-old male was named the suspect of the stabbing and was later arrested on the charges of aggravated battery and domestic batter.

Although the suspect has been arrested, the investigation is still ongoing and CPD encourages anyone with information to contact the police.
