Champaign

An arrest was made on the charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and retail theft at Walmart, 2610 N. Prospect Avenue, around 2 p.m. Sunday. According to the report, the suspect was arrested for attempting to steal items from the victim business and was discovered by police to be in possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia.

An arrest was made on the charges of domestic battery and possession of an in-state warrant in the 1500 block of Winston Drive, around noon Sunday. According to the report, a male and female who share a child got into an argument during which both parties claimed they were battered by the other. The male suspect was arrested after police discovered an outstanding warrant attributed to him.

An arrest was made on the charge of criminal damage to property in the 1300 block of Westfield Drive, around 6 p.m. Saturday. According to the report, the suspect damaged a mailbox as he was walking down the street. A witness to the event called the police and the suspect was located and arrested.

University

An arrest was made on the charge of credit card fraud at Oglesby Hall, 1005 W. College Ct., around 5 p.m. Friday. According to the report, the suspect was arrested after being accused of spending $2,472 in online video game purchases using his roommate’s debit card. 

Theft was reported at the Alice Campbell Alumni Center, 601 S. Lincoln Avenue, around 10 a.m. Friday. According to the report, an unknown offender stole the ignition keys, worth approximately $20, of a tractor belonging to Facilities and Services after it was left alone and running while the employee running the tractor left to use the restroom.

An arrest was made on the charge of retail theft at the Illini Union Bookstore, 809 S. Wright Street, around noon Wednesday. According to the report, the suspect is accused of stealing textbooks with a total value of $383.68 from the bookstore.

Urbana

An arrest was made on the charge of possession of an in-state warrant in the 900 block of Division Avenue, around noon Sunday. According to the report, the suspect was arrested after police discovered she had a valid city of Champaign arrest warrant for a city charge of resisting. She was then arrested and transported to the Champaign County jail and the custody of correctional officers.

Criminal damage to property was reported in the 800 block of East Park Street, around 3 p.m. Sunday. According to the report, all four tires on the victim’s vehicle were damaged by an unknown offender.

An arrest was made on the charge of retail theft at Walmart, 100 S. High Cross Road, around 4 p.m. Saturday. According to the report, the suspect failed to scan 31 items at the victim’s business and attempted to leave without making payment for the items.
