St. Patrick’s Day parade postponed due to coronavirus

By Samantha Boyle, News Editor

Originally scheduled for Tuesday from 5-7 p.m., the Rewind 92.5 World’s Shortest St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be postponed due to threats of the coronavirus.

The Urbana Business Association decided to postpone but has not come up with a new date for the parade.

“We ask that if you are feeling unwell that you do not attend any public events,” said Darius White, Executive Director of Urbana Business Association, in a press release. “There will be COVID-19 prevention supplies available at our events. We plan to have extra supplies on hand for event staff and participants, including hand sanitizers and tissues.”

The Urbana Business Association is complying with the recommendations for the Center of Disease Control and Prevention as the situation evolves.
