A Champaign resident was issued a state of Illinois notice to appear in court for unlawful possession of cannabis and unlawful possession of a controlled substance near the corner of First and Green streets around 10:50 p.m. on June 17. According to the report, police initially stopped the individual for driving without headlights and smelled cannabis in the vehicle. After searching the vehicle, police found about 143 grams of cannabis in addition to drugs hydrocodone and alprazolam.

Theft under $500 was reported on the 700 block of West California Avenue around 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. According to the report, a resident reported a parcel had been taken from his mailbox at his apartment and believes his neighbor stole it.

Theft under $500 was reported on the 100 block of West Main Street around 5 p.m. on Tuesday. According to the report, an unknown offender stole a pedestal urn containing flowers from a local business.
