Champaign

Arrests were made on the charges of aggravated battery, aggravated assault, aggravated discharge of a firearm and resisting police on the 00 block of East Springfield Avenue around 3:35 a.m. on Sunday. According to the report, there was a shooting and one victim was taken to the hospital. Two subjects were arrested for resisting/obstructing, but no arrests were made for the shooting.

Burglary from a motor vehicle was reported on the 2000 block of Cynthia Drive around 7:50 p.m. on Saturday. According to the report, the victim’s vehicle was entered, and his debit card was taken from inside the vehicle. The subject then attempted to use the victim’s debit card at three separate locations. 

Theft of a motor vehicle was reported at the intersection of Fourth and East Eureka streets around 6:15 p.m. on Saturday. According to the report, the victim had their vehicle taken without permission by an acquaintance.

University

Urbana

Aggravated battery was reported on the 600 block of West University Avenue at Carle Hospital around 3:51 a.m. on Tuesday. According to the report, the offender engaged in a physical altercation with hospital staff while they were performing their tasks as hospital security guards and nursing staff.

Armed robbery was reported on the 1500 block of North Lincoln Avenue after midnight on Tuesday. According to the report, an unknown offender entered a gas station and knowingly took money from the business by displaying the firearm to the victim.
