Theft was reported outside of the Krannert Center for the Performing Arts at 500 South Goodwin Avenue, Urbana around 12:30 a.m. on Thursday. According to the report, a University student’s backpack was stolen when it was left unattended while the student was visiting friends. The student’s friends reported seeing an unknown offender walking away with the backpack. The backpack and the contents inside it have a total estimated value of $750.

Financial exploitation of an elderly or disabled person was reported on the 2500 block of South Philo Street around 10 a.m. on Wednesday. According to the report, the victim alleged that the offender, her sibling, stole property from her safe deposit box while she was under the offender’s care for dementia.
