Letter: Exercise safely at night

I am impressed and pleased by the number of students back on campus who are running, jogging, biking and rollerblading. These forms of exercise are excellent ways to reach and maintain physical and mental health while having fun. However, I would like to urge students engaging in these activities after dark to wear reflectors or reflective clothing so that the health benefits derived are not canceled out by potential accidents when unsuspecting drivers (like me, the other night) are confronted suddenly by a near-invisible student darting out from the shadows into the street. Keep on exercising and having fun, but for everyone’s sake, do it safely.
