In John Bambanek’s poorly reasoned, and even more poorly supported, editorial against gay marriage he warns us against basing social policy on the “whims of societal fad.” On this point he may be correct, but I wonder if perhaps it is the fad of bigotry, so clearly evident in the opinions expressed by Mr. Bambanek and his ideological brethren, that we should guard ourselves against.
