Two arrests were made on the charges of armed violence, unlawful possession of a firearm and the delivery and manufacture of cannabis in the 600 block of West Green Street around 6 p.m. on Saturday. According to the report, police had obtained a search warrant for the apartment as a result of a Street Crimes Task Force investigation into suspected drug activity. Upon searching the residence, officers found a large amount of cannabis packaged for sale and a loaded handgun.

Urbana

An arrest was made on the charges of speeding, driving under the influence, aggravated discharge of a weapon and others around 1 a.m. on Monday. According to the report, the officer saw gunshots and pursued a vehicle until it crashed into a field. The offender was found outside the vehicle along with two handguns. The offender admitted to being a felon and was transported to Carle Hospital to be medically cleared.
