After a 9-1 pre- Big Ten record to open the season, the Illinois women’s volleyball team begins the conference schedule this weekend at Huff Hall. The Illini face two teams, Wisconsin and Minnesota, which were ranked in the pre-season to finish second and third in the Big Ten. Senior Meghan Mcdonald believes that they need to come out and do well right away this weekend.

The Illini hope to continue to have strong offensive performances from the dyamic duo Kayani Turner and Vicki Brown. Coach Hardin says that in order to come out with a pair of victories this weekend, the Illini must put pressure on the opposing team.

Illinois takes on Wisconsin on Friday at 7 and Minnesota on Saturday at 7, with both games taking place at Huff Hall. Check out tomorrow’s edition of the DI for more on the weekend’s action.
