Basketball tickets sell out for third straight year
October 20, 2006
Despite the recent disappointment among Illini men’s basketball fans regarding Eric Gordon’s commitment to Indiana, season tickets have sold out for the third consecutive year. The current wait list for season tickets has grown to 3,500 people requesting over 10,000 tickets. There was a 99.5 percent renewal rate among last year’s season ticket holders.
“It is great that our fans are excited enough about our program to sell out the Assembly Hall in season tickets for the third straight season,” head coach Bruce Weber said in a press release. “We appreciate everyone’s support of the Illini basketball program. Now to keep the Assembly Hall as the best home court in America, we need all the seats filled for every game.”
Single-game tickets for games not part of the student season ticket package will be available to the general public starting Oct. 31. Those games include: Georgia Southern on Nov. 19, Savannah State on Nov. 21, Belmont on Dec. 17, and Idaho State on Dec. 21.
Tickets for the Dec. 9 game against Illinois-Chicago at the United Center in Chicago will be available at noon, Tuesday, Oct. 24, through Ticketmaster (312-559-1212). Tickets for the game will cost between $25 and $45 each.
