The Illinois men’s golf team is currently in eighth place out of 16 teams after the first round of play at the 37th annual Kepler Intercollegiate Tournament in Columbus, Ohio. The team has a total of 306 strokes, and Louisville is winning thus far with a score of 292.

Redshirt senior Patrick Nagle and senior Kyle Hosick both lead Illinois with 3-over-par rounds on the par 71 Scarlett Course. Both are tied for 15th overall. Redshirt freshman Matt Hoffman was the next best Illini athlete, finishing with a 7-over 78.

Temperatures were in the high 30s and winds gusted to 25 miles per hour, according to a press release.

Tee times for Sunday are to be determined since there is rain in the forecast. There are supposed to be two more rounds played Sunday, depending on the weather, on the 7,455-yard course.
