Illini softball loses to Blue Demons

By Mike Theodore

Illini softball could not pull out a victory Saturday afternoon against the 11th ranked DePaul Blue Demons, losing 3-2.

Illinois designated player Katrina Ross lined a two-run home run to right field in the fourth inning to give the Illini a 2-1 lead.

But with the game tied in the top of the sixth, the Illini’s defense faltered, allowing DePaul to score the winning run without recording a hit.

Katrina’s home run was her first of the season and she became the twelfth different Illini to homer this season.

The Illini will face Northwestern Sunday.
