Podsednik off, Terrero on the disabled list

CHICAGO – Scott Podsednik was activated from the 15-day disabled list Tuesday, and the Chicago White Sox put outfielder Luis Terrero on the DL with a strained left groin.

Podsednik, a star in the 2005 World Series, has been on the disabled list since July 3 with a strained left ribcage muscle he got during a first-inning at-bat July 1 at Kansas City. He’d been on a rehab assignment with Class AAA Charlotte.

Podsednik also was on the DL from April 17 to June 22 with a strained right adductor and has played only 19 games this season, batting .269. He was back in Chicago’s lineup Tuesday in left field, batting seventh against the Detroit Tigers in the first game of a day-night doubleheader.

Terrero was hurt Monday night while making a diving catch in the ninth inning. He was batting .224 with five home runs and 10 RBI in 48 games with the Sox this season.
