The men’s and women’s cross country programs chalked up victories in their final regular season competition at the Illini Open on Friday. Even the Illinois cross country club team found success, coming in second place, ahead of Illinois State University.

Freshmen Phil Pompei finished top for the Orange and Blue men, while freshman Amber Stack led the Illini women. Many runners made strong showings, but it is yet to be seen if it was enough for any of them to break into the Big Ten Championships squad.
