The Illini broke out of an offensive dry spell in grand fashion Friday night, scoring a season-high five goals in a 5-0 rout of Michigan State (9-4-4, 2-4-2).
Five different players scored for the Illini, while three of the goals came from off the bench. The win also marked head coach Janet Rayfield’s 100th win at Illinois. The Illini (7-7-3, 2-4-2) will take on Michigan at 1 p.m. on Sunday at Illinois Soccer and Track Stadium in hopes of keeping their postseason hopes alive.
