In its second four-set match of the season, the Illinois volleyball team defeated Middle Tennessee, 23-25, 25-18, 25-16, 25-12. The Fighting Illini finished their opening weekend undefeated, with a 3-0 record, winning the State Farm Illini Classic Title.

Senior Hilary Haen was named tournament MVP, while seniors Laura DeBruler and Johannah Bangert were named the All-tournament team. DeBruler was the first player to be on the State Farm Classic all-tournament teams all four years.

DeBruler also moved to number two on the all-time kills list. She now has 1,708 kills. Bangert moved to number four on the all time block list, tallying 502.

Next weekend the Illini travel to Texas, where they face No. 3 Texas and Florida A & M.
