The San Diego Chargers selected former Illinois defensive tackle Corey Liuget with the 18th pick of the 2011 NFL Draft.
Liuget, who declared for the draft after his junior season at Illinois, was the third player taken from the Big Ten and also the third player taken at his position.
h2. Still on the Board
Former Illini juniors Mikel Leshoure and Martez Wilson are widely expected to be picked in Friday’s continuation of the NFL Draft.
Leshoure, a running back, is likely to follow close behind Alabama’s Mark Ingram, who was selected Thursday by New Orleans with the 28th pick. Ingram was the only running back selected Thursday.
