h2. Women’s golf heads to Boca Raton for dual meet

The Illinois women’s golf team will return to the course for the first time this semester Saturday, beginning with a trip to Boca Raton, Fla., to partake in the Illini Challenge, a dual meet of sorts against instate rival Illinois State. The event is played in similar fashion to the Tinervin Cup, a men’s dual meet between Illinois and Illinois State, with four-ball (a paired best-ball head-to-head contest) contests in the morning and individual match play in the afternoon.

h2. Women’s tennis set to host SMU for first time in decade

After splitting two weekend meets at ITA Kick-Off Weekend, the Illinois women’s tennis team returns to the friendly confines of the Atkins Tennis Center on Friday at 5 p.m. to face SMU in a dual meet. Playing each other for the first time since 2000, Illinois is 4-0 all time against SMU. The meet is SMU’s first of the 2011-12 season. The Mustangs are ranked No. 36 in the Campbell/ITA rankings, compared with Illinois’ No. 63 ranking.
