Catching up with past Illini baseball players

With its home opener against Penn State on March 25, the Illinois baseball team introduced many new playmakers to the roster. Redshirt sophomore Doug Hayes posted a one-hitter in March 26’s contest in an attempt to one-up last year’s loaded pitching rotation. The team has plenty of shoes to fill after sending an impressive veteran class to minor league baseball. Hayes’ success reminded Illini fans of the dominance of pitchers Tyler Jay, Kevin Duchene and Drasen Johnson. Let’s catch up with last year’s Illini baseball players who decided to take the next step toward the MLB.
