Illinois head coach Matt Bollant applauds his team’s performance during the FIghting Illini’s 89 to 37 win against Mariam at Assembly Hall, on Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012.

A late addition was made to the Illini women’s basketball team. Forward Cydnee Kinslow will be transferring to Illinois from Pepperdine.

“It was just the perfect fit,” Kinslow said in a release. “I already love the girls on the team and I’m excited to work with the coaches. This is a program that I can’t wait to grow with.”

Kinslow did not play for Pepperdine, but instead had committed to Pepperdine and graduated high school a semester early to take classes there before transferring. She averaged 13.5 points and 16.2 rebounds per game at Freedom High School.

Kinslow is the second late addition to the squad after Peca Holešínská was added in April. There were originally four signed in the class of 2016.

Bollant lost second team All-Big Ten Center Chatrice White and guard Brooke Kissinger when they transferred to other schools after the season ended.
