Junior Victoria Zheng led Illinois with a stellar performance. On day two, she was tied for first, but she ended the event tied for fifth at 2-under par (214). Her final round of 73 included three birdies and an eagle, showcasing her resilience and skill.
Junior Anna Ritter had 37 pars over the three rounds. She performed well, finishing tied for 12th at 1 over par (217). Her final round of 72 was the team’s best of the day, featuring four birdies and a back nine score of 33 (-3), which propelled her up the leaderboard.
Freshman Yurang Li contributed significantly to the team’s success, finishing tied for 25th at 220 (+4). Her consistent play throughout the tournament added depth to Illinois’ lineup.
Senior Lexanne Halama and junior Brielle Mapanao rounded out the team, finishing tied for 29th at 222(+6) and tied for 68th at 227 (+11), respectively.
Overall performance
The Illini’s rounds of 286, 292, and 292 demonstrated their competitiveness and ability to perform under pressure. Despite a challenging second round, their strong finish solidified their position in the top three.
