Darius Paul suspended indefinitely

By Daily Illini Staff Report

Darius Paul has once again been suspended from the Illinois basketball team, a statement from the athletic department said Saturday.

“We have specific standards for behavior for every member of our team, and when those expectations are not met, there are consequences.” head coach John Groce said in the statement.

The Redshirt Junior forward is back on the team after being sent to Lamar State-Port Arthur after he violated rules last year that got him suspended.

Paul came to Illinois after transferring from Western Michigan where he was the MAC freshman of the year.

The team is currently in Europe competing overseas and Paul was sent home early.
