An Illini athlete is being honored for her off-the-court contributions to the community. Illinois basketball guard Sarah Hartwell is a nominee for the 2016 Allstate WBCA Good Works Team.

This is the fourth year the award will be presented to a group of women’s college basketball student athletes with the best community service achievements.

Hartwell received the nomination for her work with the Student-Athlete Advising Committee, iHelp and CU’s Walk n’ Roll to School, where she assists with walking elementary kids to school.

The award had a record 103 nominees this year — only 10 of which will be selected to the final roster.
