Thanks to countless hours of service, Junior guard Kennedy Cattenhead has been nominated as a candidate for the Allstate WBCA Good Works Team, announced in a press release sent Wednesday.

The Good Works Team is one of the most prestigious awards in all of women’s college basketball.

The team is selected by Allstate, along with college coaches. The goal of the award is to recognize players for not just their time on the court, but also what they do for their communities.

On the court, Cattenhead is seen as a leader. This season, she is averaging 21.4 minutes, 6.8 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. She has been shooting nearly 43 percent from the field.

Cattenhead is also being recognized for her time serving the community. She volunteers for the Boys and Girls Club, OneGoal and Fighting Illini Leadership Academy, in addition to representing her team on the Student Athlete Advisory Committee.
