Illinois softball coach Tyra Perry announced Wednesday the team plans to travel to Europe in the fall from August 6-16 for a foreign tour, including stops in the Netherlands, Belgium, France and England.

While abroad, the Illini will tour Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris and London in addition to playing three games. The trip marks the first foreign tour in Illinois softball history, funded by the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics.

“We are very excited about the opportunity to take our student-athletes to Europe,” said Perry. “This will be a great environment for them to gain experience both on and off the field. The team cannot wait to get over there to compete this summer against quality opponents prepping for the 2020 Olympics.”
