Column: Features editor reflects on semester

By Phil Collins

Diversions has been a mixed bag this year, which I think reflects the diversity of what students and members of the Champaign-Urbana community do with their lives and in their free time. It is difficult to define the section as a whole because of the wide variety of topics covered.

As a staff, we tried to find some interesting people and groups in the community that you may not have known about. The stories I’ve chosen for this issue take you through West African drumming lessons, a model railway in the basement of ISR and the experience of shooting a gun for the first time with Illini on Target.

I hope you’ve had as much fun reading features this year as we’ve had putting them together.
