Drug policy lecture Tuesday

By Jack Scheff

This Tuesday, students, faculty and staff will have the opportunity to engage in a major social issue of our time. Cliff Thornton, tireless drug-policy reform advocate and former Green Party candidate for governor of Connecticut, will be speaking on the profound damage the current War on Drugs is doing to our society.

For the justice system, people’s livelihoods and ultimately, American class and race relations, our drug policy is causing much undue hurt. Mr. Thornton will explain the problems and propose some inspiring solutions.

Mr. Thornton’s speech will be this Tuesday the 15th, at 7 p.m., in Room 112 Chemistry Annex, and will be open to the public. I strongly encourage anyone interested in a just and open society to attend.
