Rule would not impede flow of information

By Dan Vinson

The editorial board pointed out Monday an initiative by the Bush administration to allow hospital and clinic employees to refuse to provide patients with information on abortion and contraceptives. They said that, “women would be able to be denied access to legal and medically sound procedures on the whim of a single person.” This is simply not true. As reported, the initiative would allow employees to refuse to provide information: information that is readily available. This option allows those believing that abortion is murder to not be forced into telling someone where and how to perform such murder. When the board said that these are the beliefs of a few they grossly underestimated the number of pro-life Americans this will apply to.
