No seats left for Illini basketball fans in Portland

Fans hoping for tickets to watch No. 5 seed Illini battle it out in Portland, Ore. this weekend are out of luck. All 350 tickets allotted to the team for the first weekend are being used by team players, coaches and families, said Derrick Burson, an associate director in the Illini Athletic Public Relations department.

“We’ve never had a public sale from our allotment on the first weekend,” Burson said.

Not all of the NCAA tournament sights have been sold out, Burson said.
