Illinois then continued to battle on every court to keep the match close. After dropping her first set, 6-3, against No. 69 Denise Dy at the No. 2 slot, No. 108 Fudge fought back to take the next two sets, 6-4, 6-4. Fudge is now 14-1 in singles.

Lambropolous and freshman Checlie Abajian also rallied wins for the Illini at the No. 3 and 4 singles spots, respectively, but the Huskies proved to be too much.
