CU Citizens for Peace and Justice (CUCPJ) will be holding a press conference on Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 2 p.m. in the Champaign County Courthouse.
CUCPJ will deliver another round of petition signatures demanding that the State’s Attorney drop the charges against Jeshaun Manning-Carter, the youth who was with Kiwane Carrington Oct. 9, 2009 when he was killed by a Champaign police officer.
Two University of Illinois students will be delivering a statement with student signatures they have collected.
Manning-Carter is facing felony charges of resisting a peace officer and will be in court at 2:45 p.m. in courtroom C.
