$100 million grant provided to Illinois Department of Transportation

Governor Pat Quinn announced that the Illinois Department of Transportation has received a $100 million grant under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

According to a press release, Illinois has received the most TIGER (Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery) grants in the Midwest. The grant will help create 1,087 jobs in Illinois.

According to the release, the funding will go towards six projects that will benefit 13 Illinois communities.
