The season-opening series for Illinois to face Bradley this weekend has been cancelled due to forecasted below-average temperatures and current snow cover.
The games cannot be rescheduled because of a lack of common open dates for the rest of the season.
However, the Illini will travel to Bradley on April 6 and the Braves will visit the U of I April 27.
The season will now open Friday, Feb. 26 at the Big Ten/Big East Challenge. The event will begin with the Illini against Notre Dame at Jack Russell Stadium in Clearwater, Fla., at 3:30 p.m. CT.
Illinois will play South Florida at Bright House Networks Field in Clearwater Feb. 27 at 6:30 p.m. and go on to play St. John’s at the Raymond A. Naimoli Complex in St. Petersburg, Fla., Feb. 28 at noon.
