A memorial service to honor recently passed Anita Feller, a professor in business, will be held Friday, Sept. 9 at 1 p.m. on the third floor of the Levis Faculty Center, 919 W. Illinois St., in Urbana.
Feller passed away on July 31, 2011 after suffering from pancreatic cancer.
The service is open to anyone who wishes to attend.
She had served as a lecturer in the Department of Accountancy since 1990, teaching courses in introductory accounting and accounting control systems. Feller also taught a Certified Public Accountant course, and was mentioned on the Incomplete List of Excellent Teachers, a designation based on student ratings of their instructors.
A contributing author for the Wiley CPA Exam Review and Financial Accounting and Reporting, Feller also developed modules for the LearnSmart Technologies Learning System to accompany an intermediate accounting textbook. She presented at various conferences on the Financial Accounting Standards Board Codification Research System and the International Financial Reporting Standards.
