Memorial service to honor Business professor

A memorial service to honor Accountancy Professor Anita Feller will be held on Friday, Sep. 9 at 1 p.m. on the third floor of the Levis Faculty Center, 919 W. Illinois St., in Urbana.

Professor Feller passed away on July 31, 2011 after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.

The service is open to anyone who wishes to attend.

She served as Lecturer in the Department of Accountancy from 1990 to the present, teaching courses in introductory accounting and accounting control systems. Professor Feller also taught a Certified Public Accountant course, and was mentioned on the Incomplete List of Excellent Teachers, a designation based on student ratings of their instructors.

A contributing author for the Wiley CPA Exam Review and Financial Accounting and Reporting, Professor Feller also developed modules for the LearnSmart Technologies Learning System to accompany an intermediate accounting textbook. She presented at various conferences on the Financial Accounting Standards Board Codification Research System and the International Financial Reporting Standards.
