Illini Chabad Center for Jewish Life will host Chassidic rapper Mor-to-Life in a Sukkot celebration concert on the Quad Monday night.
Sukkot is an eight-day Jewish harvest festival. Monday is the fifth day of the celebration.
The artist West Rogers Park will open for Mor-to-Life at 7 p.m. next to a Sukkah tent set up by Chabad near the Illini Union. Rabbi Dovid Tiechtel, director of the Chabad Center said the Suka tent provides an area for students looking to spend time with others, relaxing or doing homework.
“It’s a celebration within a celebration,” Tiechtel said. “It’s an opportunity to experience and be within a Sukkah.”
Illini Chabad will be providing free popcorn and s’mores and the Chabad Crown Project will be selling drinks.
