Starting Saturday, the Korean Student Association, or KSA, will be hosting the University’s first Korean Week. Korean Week is offering students to experience Korean culture, according to a press release.
KSA is a registered student organization on campus and will be hosting various events throughout the week. The kick-off event will be the talent show held at Foellinger Auditorium at 7 p.m. Saturday.
Yunji Kim, KSA spokeswoman, said the event was also made to unite all Koreans together.
“There are so many Koreans on our campus and a lot of registered student organizations, but there wasn’t a lot of chances to get together,” Kim said.
Other organizations such as the Korean Cultural Center, International Debate Society and Korean Accounting Student Society will be joining together to host the events. Next week’s events will be the Korean Percussion Quartet on the Quad on Tuesday at 5 p.m., Korean Expo on Thursday at the Illini Union at 10 a.m. and the baseball tournament on April 14.
