Illinois State Police conduct surveillance on stores selling alcohol to minors

Illinois State Police officers conducted a Campus/Tap surveillance in

Champaign County during the evening hours of Aug. 28.

Twenty-six locations were under surveillance and of those businesses,

two sold alcohol to minors. Store employees from both Circle K #94 on Philo Road in Urbana and Walgreens on Neil Street in Champaign were arrested for unlawful delivery of alcohol to a minor and are expected to appear in court.

Campus/Tap seeks to reduce underage drinking and the sale of alcoholic

beverages to minors.
