Organizations all over the country held National Voter Registration Day events on Tuesday.
The Champaign County Health Care Consumers and Parkland College hosted an event at Parkland’s wellness fair in which a booth was available for the community to register.
“People were there to walk around the fair and seemed interested in the fact that we were the only group doing voter registration,” said Nick Quealy-Gainer, community organizer for CCHCC.
Quealy-Gainer added that the day was definitely a good service for the community. Despite the effort, Quealy-Gainer said that around ten people registered and a handful took home registration forms.
Self-service voter registration kiosks are available on campus at the Illini Union and the Undergraduate Library. Voters will need to provide their drivers license number and the last four digits of their Social Security number in order to register.
