Illinois State Police warns students of hazardous conditions on I-57

By Daily Illini Staff Report

University administrators are discouraging students from driving back to campus from Spring Break until weather conditions improve and roads are cleared.

Illinois State Police warned the University that Interstate 57 is hazardous, Provost Ilesanmi Adesida said in a Massmail to campus.

He said if students are unable to return in time for class Monday, they should contact their instructors.

Despite the hazardous weather conditions, campus spokeswoman Robin Kaler said the University never closes. Employees will make individual decisions regarding their work schedules.
