Illini women’s basketball game rescheduled after postponement

Update (1:45 p.m., Monday): The Illinois women’s basketball game against Northwestern has been rescheduled for Jan. 15 following a Northwestern men’s basketball game.

The women will play approximately 30 minutes following the conclusion of the men’s game at Welsh-Ryan Arena, which is scheduled to tip shortly after 6 p.m.

Northwestern athletics has postponed Monday’s women’s basketball game against the Illini, due to inclement weather throughout the state.

The game was scheduled to tip shortly after 6 p.m. at Welsh-Ryan Arena.

The Illini (7-7, 0-1 Big Ten) are still scheduled to host No. 15 Penn State on Thursday night.

Evanston, Ill., like much of the state, is under a winter storm warning until midnight Monday morning and will be under a wind chill warning through Tuesday afternoon. Temperatures in northern Illinois are expected to dip below minus 10 degrees Monday morning with wind chills approaching as low as minus 45.

A makeup date has not been determined.
