Big Ten Basketball Power Rankings: Week of Feb. 2

1. WISCONSIN (LAST WEEK: 1)

The No. 5 Badgers took care of Iowa for their fourth-straight win, improving to 7-1 in conference play.

2. OHIO STATE (2)

No. 20 Ohio State didn’t just knock off No. 16 Maryland, but made a statement winning the game 80-56.

3. MARYLAND (3)

The No. 17 Terrapins dropped two of their last three games by a combined 43 points.

4. MICHIGAN STATE (5)

The Spartans are one of the best shooting teams in the conference with a 47.3 field goal percentage and 39.5 from 3-point range.

5. MICHIGAN (6)

The Wolverines have looked strong, winning three of their last five, with the two losses coming in overtime.

6. INDIANA (4)

The Hoosirs dropped from the top-25 rankings after losses to Ohio State and Purdue but are looking to get back in with a big win Tuesday against No. 5 Wisconsin.

7. PURDUE (9)

The Boilermakers have been on a roll, winning four of their last five games and two of those wins coming against ranked teams.

8. IOWA (8)

The Hawkeyes have lost twice to Wisconsin in the past three games, both by 10+ points. Iowa also lost to a struggling Purdue team, 67-63. 

9. NEBRASKA (7)

The Cornhuskers have lost two-straight games by more than 10 points.

10. MINNESOTA (10)

Minnesota posts one of the best scoring offenses in the country putting up 77.5 points per game.

11. ILLINOIS (11)

The Illini have ben alternating wins and losses since losing leading scorer and rebounder Rayvonte Rice in early January. The Illini are currently 4-5 in conference play.

12. PENN STATE (13)

The NIttany Lions dropped a nail-biter to Illinois Sunday, ending a two-game winning streak that provided optimism in the midst of a 2-7 Big Ten record.

13. RUTGERS (12)

The Scarlet Knights are having a nightmare stretch in conference play, losing six games in a row with a 2-8 Big Ten record.

14. NORTHWESTERN (14)

The Wildcats have lost seven-straight games, scoring just 65.6 points per game.
