New driver services facility announced in Champaign

By Daily Illini Staff Report

A new driver services facility for Champaign has been announced by Secretary of State Jesse White, and is expected to open in the summer months. The new building is located at the Round Barn Centre, at the corner of Springfield and Mattis avenues and will be approximately double the size of Champaign’s previous driver services facility, which closed in November due to air quality concerns.

White said he made it a top priority to find a new permanent facility for the citizens of Champaign. The new location will also have ample parking and is located near I-57, according to a press release.
