Champaign

Residential burglary was reported on the 700 block of Higgins Road around noon Wednesday. According to the report, the offender entered a garage and stole a bicycle. 

Illegal dumping was reported on the 1100 block of Lancaster Drive around 9 a.m. Thursday. According to the report, an old couch was disposed on the victim’s property. 

Armed robbery was reported on the 2500 block of Heritage Drive around 1 p.m. Friday. According to the report, the victim was approached by three men as they demanded the victim’s property. One of the three men pulled a knife on the victim.

An arrest was made on the charges of delivery of cannabis at Weston Hall, 204 E. Peabody Drive, around 1:30 a.m. Thursday. According to the report, the suspect was arrested after University Housing security guards saw him smoking outside of Weston Hall. The security guards called the police and searched the suspect’s bag. Individually wrapped bags of cannabis were found. 

Theft was reported at Coordinated Science Laboratory, 1308 W. Main St., around 11 p.m. Thursday. According to the report, the offender was apprehended by police and was identified as the person who had stolen the victim’s bicycle minutes earlier.

Urbana

Retail theft was reported at Walmart, 100 S. High Cross Road, around 7 p.m. Thursday. According to the report, two offenders entered the store and passed all points of purchase without paying for their selected items. The offenders were issued state notices to appear and released from the scene.

Aggravated discharge of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm, and unlawful possession and usage of a firearm by a felon was reported on the 400 block of University Avenue around 9 p.m. Thursday. According to the report, the victim and offender, who were acquaintances residing in the same hotel, had an argument over a woman, causing the offender to shoot at the victim with a handgun in the hotel parking lot. The offender refused to leave the hotel room and had Metro Callout activated. The offender was identified as a convicted felon in possession of a stolen firearm.

Theft was reported on the 200 block of Green Street around 4:30 p.m. Thursday. According to the report, the victim’s cellphone was picked up by an unknown offender after he left it behind.
